Innovation Day - Tuesday 8th January
On Tuesday 8th January secondary students took part in an Innovation Day.
Year 7 student’s took part in Newham’s Every Child A Theatre Goer scheme, the whole of Year 7 visited the Stratford Royal Theatre to watch Sleeping Beauty. Students were entertained with first class acting, singing, dancing, audience interaction and comedy in the production.
Other students took part in a series of workshops and seminars run by the charity Prison Me! No-Way! This is a national educational charity with a core aim of raising awareness among young people about the causes, consequences and penalties of crime.
Year 9 students visited the local area, spending part of the day looking at the history of East Village and the Olympic Park and then going out and walking around East Village to look for practical ideas to improve the area.
Year 10 Students were taking part in a series of workshops based on the Sex and Relationships education curriculum as outlined by the DFE. The workshops will be based around three themes “healthy relationships”, “understanding your body” and “consent”.
Year 12 students were involved in a variety of sessions focusing on the below:
1.My Bank came in to run an interactive session on ‘uni dosh’
2.Chobham RAG week for year 12 was launched, students presented ideas to the year group.
3.Assembly from an external speaker from Investment 20/20 ALL of year 12 students on opportunities for jobs and school leavers programmes.
